Giving Thanks

It’s good practice to find time for gratitude. This week presents a perfect moment to stop and reflect on all that we have to be grateful for. For me, I am most grateful for the people in my life. I have an embarrassment of riches when it comes to remarkable people who I get to work with, live with, be with. Here’s my list of the people who make my life richer, fuller, bigger and better.

My children. They are smart, funny and very kind hearted. They have made me a better person. And, despite conventional wisdom, they’ve helped my career.

My husband. He is truly an equal partner and parent. Our children are so lucky to have a father who is involved in every aspect of their lives. And they are lucky to have a role model of masculinity that includes being a nurturing parent.

Path Forward returnees, past and present. These are some of the most amazing women (and a few men!) I’ve ever met in my life. They are smart, passionate to make a difference and tenacious in restarting their careers. I learn so much from them.

My team. Christine, Barb and Victoria are working so hard to help me build this organization and create more opportunities for people who are restarting their careers after time spent on caregiving. They make me laugh, keep me sane and I can’t imagine a better group to spend time with every day.

The Path Forward Board. You can read about them here. Collectively and individually they’ve been amazingly supportive of our mission and helping us to build a great organization.

If you are feeling grateful this year and are planning to participate in #GivingTuesday, consider a gift to Path Forward. You can make your tax deductible donation on our Crowdrise page. Your gift supports our efforts to empower women and men to restart their careers after caregiving.
