Path Forward and Twilio are excited to announce a new returnship program aimed at helping finance and accounting professionals restart their careers after time away for caregiving. Twilio is looking for Accountants and Payroll Analysts to participate in 16-week returnships that will start in April. These roles are open to professionals with five or more years of experience, who have taken two or more years off from their careers for caregiving. You can view the available roles at Twilio and apply here.
Twilio’s returnships will be 100% virtual during the 16-week paid program. Participants will have support from Twilio peers, managers, and mentors to ensure success in the remote environment. Additionally Path Forward staff and program alumni will provide professional development support for all participants. The program’s goal is to provide each returner a chance to refresh their skills and gain more recent experience — the fundamental tools needed for caregivers to successfully restart their careers. At the conclusion of the program, each of the returnship participants will be considered for full-time positions at Twilio.
“One of our values at Twilio is ’empower others’ which translates to investing in human potential. Our team aims to hire candidates across various backgrounds and experiences to ensure the company reflects the diverse population of our customers we serve. Building on our successful HATCH apprenticeship and college internship programs, our new returnship program is one more way that we’re looking at unique and diverse talent pipelines to build a more inclusive and successful company” says Kevin Mottram, Director, Global Early in Career Talent.
“This past year has been a challenging one, especially for caregivers, with more than two million women exiting the workforce. We’re thrilled to see forward-thinking companies like Twilio creating on-ramps back in for those who have taken career breaks to care for family,” says Path Forward Executive Director Tami Forman. “By giving returning professionals the chance to re-engage in the workforce, Twilio is not only helping family caregivers restart their careers, but also tapping into a reserve of talent that will help build back our economy.”
Twilio joins more than 80 companies that have partnered with Path Forward to launch returnship programs for caregivers on career breaks. Those programs have helped more than 500 returners re-engage with their careers. Twilio subsidiary SendGrid was an early partner of Path Forward, as part of a Denver-based consortium of companies that piloted returnships together, and all four of the program participants were converted to full time roles. This new program seeks to build on that success.
