Our Racial Equality Journey (REJ)
At PepsiCo, we believe in elevating diverse voices within our company, our supply chain partners and our communities while helping break down longstanding racial barriers. In 2020, PepsiCo announced our Racial Equality Journey (REJ) Initiative to dismantle systemic racial barriers in Black and Hispanic communities. It’s a journey that we’ve just begun, and we know there’s much more work to do.

We’re investing $570 million over five years to fund the REJ. In 2020, we began with a five year, $400 million investment focused on increasing Black representation at PepsiCo, supporting Black-owned businesses, and uplifting Black communities. We invested an additional $172 million over five years focused on Hispanic Americans, and in 2021 supported further initiatives with $250 million+ with Hispanic suppliers.

Our 2025 REJ Progress Update:

  • At a rate of 43%, we are on track towards achieving 50% women in managerial roles globally by 2025.
  • At rates of 8.3% and 9.6%, we are on track to increase Black and Hispanic managerial representation in the U.S. to 10%, to mirror workforce availability of the communities where we work.
